The Pediatric Residency Program at the Medical University of South Carolina provides a comprehensive training experience focused on developing well-rounded, compassionate pediatricians. Based at a leading tertiary and quaternary referral center, residents care for patients across the full spectrum of pediatric medicine, from routine health maintenance to complex conditions, in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
We are committed to developing pediatricians who are not only skilled clinicians, but also advocates, educators, and leaders. Through diverse clinical experiences, strong mentorship, and opportunities in research and community engagement, our residents graduate prepared to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in South Carolina and beyond.
Starting in 1937 with only a handful of residents, MUSC's Pediatric Residency Program is a flourishing program of 82 residents with 18 categorical residents per year, 4 internal medicine-pediatrics residents per year, 3 primary care program residents per year, and 2 child neurology residents per year.
