I am a Hematologist who specializes in the management of patients with bleeding, clotting, and hemoglobin disorders. My research is focused on understanding the role of coagulation pathways in these diseases by integrating multi-omics data (proteomics, genomics, and biomarkers) with machine learning (ML) approaches to understand how fibrin formation and degradation contribute to ASCVD progression and thrombotic events, such as myocardial infarction (MI) and ischemic stroke (IS) in these patient populations. This spring/summer, I am interested in working with a student to use the EMR to identify and describe the different types of strokes and associated risk factors seen in patients with sickle cell disease. This would involve verifying the findings in the EMR and to summarize and describe them.
