My research has focused on the advancement of diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy by conducting high-impact clinical trials in established need areas and developing novel endoscopic technologies to facilitate safer and more effective treatment of GI disease. My unique background in clinical trials and endoscopic innovation allows me to contribute significantly to the field, bringing major scientific discoveries to the forefront of clinical practice. I have significant experience in the design and conduct of large federally funded multi-center RCTs that aim to answer important endoscopic questions. Our current focus is on randomized trails assessing the optimal strategy to prevent post-ERCP pancreatitis and the preferred approach to drainage in patients with malignant biliary hilar obstruction.
