PHGEN 708 Principles in Environmental Health Sciences

This course is designed for public health students interested in studying the relationships between people and their environment and how it affects their wellbeing. This course offers a general introduction to environmental health, addressing fundamental topics and current debates. The first part of the course covers core topics intended to prepare students to more fully understand and address environmental health issues: environmental epidemiology; toxicology; and, environmental policy and regulation. The second part of the course presents agents of environmental disease and applications of environmental health. Emphasis will be placed on air quality and environmental exposure assessment. (Required EPID, HBHP, BIOS)
