William Hope, M.D., FACS

Dr. HopeWilliam Hope, M.D. FACS is Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also serves as Program Director at New Hanover Regional Medical Center/South Eastern Area Health Education Center. 

Dr. Hope received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his residency at the Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center and his fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center. 

Dr. Hope is a member with several national professional committees and serves on the Guidelines and Research and Career Development Committee with Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

He is Past President of the Americas Hernia Society and is a board member of the Americas Hernia Society Quality Collaborative.  Dr. Hope also participates in several NHRMC committees including Physician Champion ICD-10 Steering Committee, NSQIP and Past President of the Medical Staff. 

He is board certified in General Surgery and is credentialed in Robotic Surgery.
